Stephanie at empowered photo is such a talented photographer! We hired her to take “redo” bride/groom pictures of us, (the ones from our wedding day felt lacking) & we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Not only was it fun to put our suit and gown back on, but Stephanie is SO great at what she does. The photos turned out SO nice! She was patient, flexible, encouraging, fun, focused, & accommodating during our shoot. Neither of us felt entirely comfortable as ‘models’, but she did a great job directing us and keeping genuine smiles rolling. I’ll definitely be recommending her to friends and family, and I hope we can use her again in the future! She gave us pictures that we will cherish forever and that’s a priceless gift (but that said, I found her rates very reasonable/appropriate). You won’t regret using Stephanie, highly recommend!

I miss New York City so much it’s honestly kind of ridiculous. Like, how can I miss a place that was so hot, loud, crowded, and basically a constant overstimulation buffet? But here I am, missing it anyway. There’s just something about that city. Especially at night. Especially when you’ve survived the chaos of the day and suddenly it’s like, “Oh wow, this place is actually really romantic. Who knew?” The whole vibe is kind of sweaty and chaotic, but in a way that makes you fall a little in love with life.

Yeah…it’s grossly humid, and yes, I probably spent half my time dodging folks trying to sell me stuff or stepping over mystery puddles, but there’s a charm to it! I miss grabbing a late-night slice and eating it on some random bench while watching people argue over cabs or carrying 12 bags from Trader Joe’s because they insisted on walking. I miss walking through the West Village and pretending I was in a rom-com, even if I was just heading for toothpaste. Everything felt bigger, louder, and somehow more meaningful.

The city makes you feel like you’re starring in your own chaotic little love story. It’s messy, it’s imperfect, and honestly, sometimes it smells weird—but that’s part of the magic.

So yeah, I miss it. I miss the noise, the sweat, the pizza, the vibe, the romance, and even the chaos. NYC, you were way too much, but you were also just right.

There’s something so magical about film—For my first-ever film photography experience, I had the honor of documenting the most dreamy New Year’s Eve wedding at a historic theater.

The bride radiated elegance with her timeless style- glowing in the warm ambiance of vintage lighting. The bouquet and details felt like an extension of the theater’s charm—romantic, nostalgic, and unforgettable.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to experiment with film on such a special day, and I’m completely smitten with the results. This feels like the beginning of a new chapter in my photography journey.

2025 and beyond bride and grooms:

Now is the time to start looking for and booking your photographer! Here’s some tips when looking for the right fit:

1. Look at their work and make sure their work aligns with your style. Do you like the editing and composition you see? Can you imagine putting their work on your wall or in a photo album and looking back on it for years and years to come? Most photographers will not change their style as it is personal to them as a creative, so finding one you like is important.

2. Know your budget! Be willing to communicate this with your photographer because they may be willing to create a custom package that fits your needs.

3. Be willing to schedule that call or meet up. I personally think it’s very important to connect with your photographer and make sure you feel comfortable with them! It’s a big day and this person is with you for almost all of it!

4. Read their contract. Most people don’t and it is really important so that you know what to expect.

5. Create a Pinterest and collect some photos with styles you enjoy. I know personally as a photographer I love this as it helps me understand what you envision for your day.
